This pickup was developed with the aim of achieving a pure vintage-style Telecaster pickup. As most of you will realize from the product name, it's modeled after the tone of John Frusciante, the guitarist of RHCP. The exquisite melodies and overwhelming vintage sound produced by his 1962 custom Telecaster are the object of admiration for Fender fans. Many players, including myself, consider that sound an ideal. This pickup is pure vintage style. Of course, it's made with different gauges: 43AWG for the neck and 42AWG for the bridge. The sound is also a crisp "Twangy" sound, and the sweet tone of the neck pickup has good sensitivity, making it perfect for replacement for players who value a vintage feel. When you install it, you might feel that the high frequencies are a bit harsh or that the neck pickup sounds a bit muffled for the first hour or two, but once that aging process is complete, it will provide a very high-quality Telecaster sound. One of the concerns with vintage-style Telecasters is the volume difference between the neck and bridge pickups. To minimize this difference, we've slightly reduced the output of the bridge pickup to achieve a balance. Specifically, lowering the height of the bridge pickup by about 4mm compared to the neck pickup will make it relatively easy to balance. Although this is an original part of our product, the bridge pickup plate is made from a brass billet. The engraving is, of course, original. It may not be a part that greatly affects the sound, but we've put our heart into making it. Please give it a try.
