This is a handmade laptop case, remade from an obi (Japanese traditional sash). Inspired by the ease of use of a commercially available case my family had, I replicated its shape and size. It's perfectly sized for a MacBook Air, as well as compact laptops like Chromebooks. A pocket is included under the flap to carry a mouse and charger. The flap closes with Velcro. You can carry it on its own or use it as a bag-in-bag. To protect against impact, I've added quilt batting to both sides to provide cushioning. I've made similar items like backpacks in the past, so I believe the construction is relatively sturdy.
