It has a refined aroma. Elements of forest fruit, iris, and spice open up, and a lively and harmonious palate of maraschino cherry, dark spice, crushed herbs, and menthol spreads. Sophisticated tannins and fresh acidity form a firm structure. The finish envelops the mouth with a licorice flavor. A truly gorgeous wine. Best enjoyed from around 2022 to 2034." 2014 was said to be a difficult year with a lot of rain, but Piedmont was blessed with wonderful weather from September onwards. This brought excellent results for the late-ripening Nebbiolo, and it was possible to harvest in the best condition. The owner, Mr. Gaja, says that 2014 was truly a memorable vintage. It was very difficult from spring to summer when the grapes were unripe, but it became wonderful as autumn came and they ripened. It is an elegant vintage with a nuance of watermelon juice.
