This is an old Imari soba choko (small bowl for soba noodles) with a yoraku (pendant) design. The most distinctive feature of this piece is, without a doubt, the sometsuke (blue and white underglaze). It's as if a modern high school girl drew the yoraku design with a pen. I collect yoraku designs and this piece is the only one I have with this kind of feel. I imagine that it was ahead of its time, perhaps even anticipating the modern era. A very rare piece.
