This is a set of plates and a stand. There is a small chip on the bottom from when I purchased it, but it's not sharp and won't cut your hand if you touch it. Since it's on the bottom, it's not noticeable when in use. It's durable enough to be washed vigorously in the dishwasher ^ ^ It has a stylish marble pattern that's hard to find, so I recommend it. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about used items.
