YAMAHA LP-400 Rare Gibson Head Made in Japan Cherry Sunburst, Fully Maintained I am selling this as I am getting older and organizing my collection. I haven't been able to get detailed information from the serial number, but judging from the fact that Gibson head production ended in the 90s, I believe this was definitely made in the 80s. It's about 40 years old, so it has some scratches and dents. Please check the detailed images. In the 80s, Yamaha, one of the Japanese musical instrument manufacturers, had a large stock of high-quality wood, and the guitars they made used wood of incredibly high quality, which is unimaginable today. At the time, the LP-400 was a low-priced model among set-neck models, but it was built with a quality that is hard to believe today. BODY: Mahogany + Maple Top NECK: Mahogany + Rosewood Fretboard Please take a look at the color of the rosewood fretboard; it's incredibly dark, something you wouldn't see today. You can also see the beautiful grain on the mahogany on the back of the neck. Maintenance and Custom Details: Pegs → Overhauled Toggle Switch → Replaced due to poor contact Output Jack → Replaced due to poor contact Jack Plate → Replaced with a metal plate because it was cracked Escutcheon → Replaced because it was cracked Cleaning of each part The electrical system keeps the original parts from the time of release, except for the switch and output jack. We focused on cleaning and maintenance without unnecessarily replacing parts. You can see a crack in the neck, but it's only on the painted surface, and there is no damage to the wood. I have left it visible without repair so that you can understand it from the images. Some images show speed knobs, but the original hat knobs will be used. The original parts that were replaced will be included. Truss rod unused, Fret remaining: 80% It is currently in very good condition. There is no warping in the neck, and you can finger freely up to the high frets. The body resonates well, and it produces a really good sound. Shipped in a generic soft case + cardboard box.
