The mountain stream fishing season opens nationwide next month. Targeting rising fish in slow currents is fun, isn't it? It would be nice if they came to the surface, but what do you do when they're just below the surface? Here's a suggestion: How about fishing with a horizontal swing just below the surface? This fly has a slender body, so if you mend it well, you can achieve a swing that's almost vertical. If you have time, you might want to practice at a managed fishing area before the season opens. Also, it can be used for Tenkara fishing in headwaters in midsummer. This is a set of 10 flies, 2 of each color. They will be shipped in the case shown in the photo.
