[8] Shape: Natural inkstone with a lid made of the same stone, with engravings. ◉About the artwork⭕️ Ogatsu Gensho stone is pure black, resistant to compression and bending, and suitable for inkstones due to its low water absorption. The history of Ogatsu inkstones is said to date back 600 years. It is said that Date Masamune also praised this high-quality stone and made inkstones. ◯This artwork is a slightly large natural inkstone with a lid made of the same stone, weighing nearly 2 kg. It has a deep ink well, allowing for enjoyable calligraphy. As it has a lid made of the same stone, it has good ink retention, which is effective for creating calligraphy. It is an inkstone that has taken time and effort, as it has a lid. On the surface of the lid, five auspicious blooming plum blossoms have been carved with further care. The Ogatsu stone pattern flows beautifully, undulating from the left side of the sea and hill in an S-shape to the lower right. When light is applied, it becomes gray like silver sand. Also, the lid has a uniform thickness of about 10mm and is beautifully finished with lacquer, similar to the sides of the main body.
