It is a historical suzuri stone, said to have been discovered 500 years ago by the Kanpaku, Ichijo Norifusa. There is a gold seal. The yellow cloth has considerable staining. The paper box for storage is quite damaged. I believe this is a very old item, but it has a certain air of dignity and is worth seeing.
