Type: Les Paul Color: Sunburst This is a beautiful 1994 Epiphone Les Paul, made in Japan, with a classic cherry sunburst body, the quintessential Les Paul color. While Orville Les Pauls were being sold in Japan, and many Epiphone Les Pauls were being produced in Korea during the same period, this model is an Epiphone Les Paul with a small, 7-digit serial number, made in Japan. (From 1995, the serial number became FC + 7 digits) Some Les Pauls still use a bolt-on neck to reduce costs, but this guitar has a completely different construction. The bolt joint is located behind the pickups and is not visible from the outside. The ingenious construction, which makes it indistinguishable from a set-neck at first glance, reflects the pride of Japanese craftsmen at the time and is an interesting specification that tells the story of Japanese guitar manufacturing history. Although it may not be as flashy as current Chinese-made models, the materials and construction are on a different level. The thick maple top provides a solid attack, while the vintage nature of the guitar gives it a moderate dryness, resulting in a good sound separation. I have been fascinated by the cost-effectiveness of Epiphone Les Pauls from the 90s and have owned many, but this guitar is particularly attractive due to its "Made in Japan" history and its sound. ● Condition Missing pickguard, cracked escutcheon, and various dents and other damage throughout. Pickups have been replaced with Zemaitis pickups. The electrical system works fine when the sound is produced. Other parts replacements are unknown.
