● This exhibition is the first retrospective in Japan to explore the aesthetics of Nishikawa's work, which has consistently maintained a characteristic of tranquility from the 1980s to the present. Approximately 70 pieces, including sculptures, photographs, paintings, drawings, installations, and architectural structures, will be displayed according to the artist's own composition. In a space filled with silence and serenity, what kind of scenery will we encounter? This exhibition is for each individual to contemplate in the museum, a place separate from everyday life. ● The exhibition catalog is entirely composed of photographs taken by the artist, Nishikawa, including those of the artworks. By carefully introducing each piece, including installation views, the textures within the silence emerge. In response to the works expressing gradations within whiteness, the binding also uses two types of embossing within the white to create expression.
