When the orange button on the front is pressed, the tape loading/ejecting section opens smoothly. When the unit is plugged in, a VHS tape is inserted into the tape loading/ejecting section, and pressed down to close, the main unit lamp (the lamp next to the orange button on the front) lights up red. Although there is operating noise within the unit, the tape did not actually rewind. The item is in the above-mentioned condition. (I am sorry, but I do not have any more specialized knowledge than this.) Comes with the original box.
