This is a highly rare South African original mono vinyl record of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, considered the Beatles' masterpiece and perhaps the first concept album in rock history. It's a mono pressing, with the same first matrix numbers (1/1) as the UK original, plus unique stampings. The disc is glossy and in beautiful condition. The jacket is also unique, with a red spine and laminate processing. George Martin said that mono is the true essence of Sgt. Pepper's. It's amazing how they managed to bring together so many instruments and sounds in mono, and it's a record you'll want to listen to from start to finish. The jacket has some damage, but it's in good condition for being 60 years old. The disc has some hairline scratches and scuffs, but overall it's glossy and clean for its age. In my environment, I detected a slight pop or two, but it played well and there were no overall issues. With the recent popularity of vinyl records, the rarity of this album is increasing. UK originals are becoming scarce in the used market. Furthermore, pressings from other countries are very rare, and hardcore collectors who have completed their UK original collections are desperately searching for them.
