This is a handmade tunic/dress made from a repurposed kimono. I believe it's tsumugi (pongee). The fabric is neither too thick nor too thin, with a slightly smooth and airy feel. It seems to be wrinkle-resistant. It's been gathered and switched at the bust line. I'm not an expert on kimonos. I use vintage fabric. I wash and iron the garment before finishing. Because it's vintage fabric, there may be stains, holes, or damage, and I try to avoid using those areas as much as possible. I try to note any flaws I find, but it's not perfect.
