It begins with the death of my father and ends with the death of my mother. I chose the title "Mizukuruma" (Water Wheel) after capturing small spots within the rural landscape of my hometown. ◎ Seto Osaki was born in Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture, and belongs to the poetry group "Yamamayu." In 1978, she won the 24th Kadokawa Tanka Award for "Bokyo" (Nostalgia). She has two other collections of poems: "Umi ni Mukae ba" (If I Face the Sea) and "Akai Mi" (Red Berries).
