There is no box inscription, but the artist's name, based on the mark on the back, appears to be Sadamitsu Sugimoto. I believe it may be an early work, but the mark and writing order differ from those I've seen on other pieces. From conversations at my family home, I was only told to cherish it because it was a very good piece. It is certainly at least 60 years old. While I no longer have anyone around me to ask for details, I believe those familiar with Iga-yaki and Shigaraki-yaki would understand. This piece was kept for appreciation, and while there is no box inscription, I hope that someday someone will recognize the value of the work itself, rather than the box.
