Acquired in 2015. Set of 4. These are paper bags used in a French bakery. They are made of thin paper, soft and supple, but I was impressed by their crisp texture. Delicate illustrations of a ukulele, a bouquet, croissants, and brioche are drawn on them, so realistic that you almost want to eat them, yet with a soft touch. When you open the bag, there's a gusset on the side (about 7-8 cm), allowing it to hold a lot of bread. It's made similarly to the bags used for French bread. The illustrations are transparent and soothing. These are used items, so there are creases, fading, discoloration, and traces of cellophane tape, but the crisp texture and thinness are a craftsmanship that cannot be replicated in Japan. Just by touching or looking at the paper bags, the scenery of France and the bakery comes to mind. They are also stylish for wrapping. If you were given a present in such a cute bag, you would surely smile.
