These are handmade dragonflies crafted from "susudake" (smoked bamboo), which has been smoked by the irori (sunken hearth) for many years, resulting in a naturally deep color. The susudake, originally used as ceiling material in old houses, has been carved to bring out its simple and warm texture. The natural luster of the bamboo and the natural color that has developed over time are its charm. Simply placing them on the entrance or a shelf is a small decoration that evokes a nostalgic Japanese atmosphere. They look cute when displayed on a wall, as if they are perched there.
