This is a tsujigahana obi with an otaiko pattern from the renowned Kubota Itchiku Kobo, known for their tsujigahana creations. This obi is a rare example of a framed construction, which is unusual for fukuro obi. It seems that framed construction is not often seen in fukuro obi these days. The first Itchiku Kubota is a world-renowned dyer, famous for his efforts to revive the tsujigahana dyeing and decorative techniques that were lost in the late 15th to early 16th centuries! Tsujigahana kimono are something everyone wants to own at least once♪ I myself own many tsujigahana kimono and obi from Yoshino Kazuto and Suizan Kobo, but when I held a Kubota Itchiku tsujigahana piece, I was deeply moved and purchased it♪ I am organizing my kimono collection, so I would like to offer this one for sale!
