Although there is no maker's mark, this is a representative work of the famous Komadaya Genbei. I received a Komadaya Genbei obi with a different color of the same pattern from a relative, so I believe it is authentic. It has been worn two or three times (the third time was almost just a fitting) and is in very good condition. Therefore, I have listed it as "like new." I purchased this from a very reliable person, but as I received a different color of the same obi from a relative, I am selling this one while it is still in beautiful condition. The obi is brown with a subdued gold color, and features a horizontal striped pattern of grapes woven with a combination of a type of weave called "mole weave" and velvet. Suitable for formal visiting wear (houmongi), semi-formal visiting wear (tsukesage), and solid-colored kimono (iromuji).
