British vintage (made around the 1970s-1980s), adorable animal figures by ceramic artist Philip Laureston. Philip Laureston belonged to the BABBACOMBE kiln in the Torquay region of the UK, which was founded in 1952 and closed in 2002. Each piece is handmade, so the shape and facial expressions differ from one to another. They were made from the late 1970s to the 1980s. Currently, as vintage items, their numbers are limited, and they are coveted by collectors around the world. There are other adorable animal works, such as those by Lisa Larson (Sweden), Hagen-Renaker (USA), and Jenny Winstanley (UK), but Philip Laureston's works are characterized by their miniature size, fitting in the palm of your hand, and their cute expressions. ※ Production period: Back stamps are not present on early works, but later works have the letters "Philip Laureston" and numbers stamped on them.
