This is a Hon-Kainokuchi braid by Michiaki Domyo, a master of Yusoku Kumihimo. It comes with a tag. While variations of Kainokuchi braids are relatively common in the used market, I feel that the Hon-Kainokuchi braid with its gradation is not often seen. It might be rare. Based on a subdued, refined color, the Hana-Asagi color (pale blue-green) gradually transitions into a medium red, with gold threads fluttering over it. It's like a dream, a fleeting vision, as if one is mesmerized by a haze of flowers, wondering if this is the celestial world, and standing there in a daze. It's a mysterious and fantastical obijime (decorative belt cord). I am impressed by the exquisite skill of blending opposing colors with a slightly moist, subdued color palette, creating a soft harmony. It gives the impression of having stripped away all unnecessary elements to achieve the ultimate in simple beauty, and I feel the genuine beauty that doesn't rely on novelty. Although it has a tag, in the face of its overwhelming aura that instantly reveals it's something special, I almost feel the tag is unnecessary. It's used, but there's no feeling of wear.
