This is a rare Royal Copenhagen 1974 Year Mug, large size. This large size has metal embedded in the bottom. This is because the metal, which is easily warmed and does not cool easily, helps to keep warm beverages warm. This series has been produced since 1967. Every year, it is designed by famous designers from both Japan and abroad. The designer for 1974 was Ellen Malmer. All were hand-painted until 1986.
