Approximately 7 cm in height, approximately 6.7 cm in diameter. A chaire (tea container) by the lacquer artist Kouhou, with sandalwood lacquer and ivy maki-e (sprinkled picture). It is a medium-sized natsume (tea caddy). There are no noticeable scratches or stains, and it is in beautiful condition. Sandalwood lacquer is a technique where lacquer is applied over maki-e to calm the shine. There is a written inscription by the 511th Abbot of Daitoku-ji Temple, Roshi Daikyu. The accompanying box is also in beautiful condition.
