A fantasy animation from Ireland, nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 87th Academy Awards. Based on Irish mythology, it depicts the great adventure of a young brother and sister with beautiful visuals. The director is Tomm Moore, whose second feature film this is. Ben, a boy, lives with his father and his young sister Saoirse in a lighthouse by the sea. Since their mother disappeared soon after Saoirse was born, he can't be kind to his mischievous sister. When Saoirse turns 6, she puts on the coat of a selkie, a seal fairy, that their father had hidden, and swims gracefully in the sea. Their grandmother sees this and takes the two of them to town. However, because Saoirse is recognized as a selkie, she is targeted and taken away by the witch's owl. Ben embarks on a harsh adventure to save his sister... #Matsumo Soft Land 2025/12/25
