LEVI’S 506XX Irregular Item, Lily Buckle, Shrinkage from 42-40 to 38, Rivets with lowercase "o" in two places, Circa 1942-46 This is a rare piece featuring a Lily buckle (made by SOLIDE), which should only have been used on the S506XX (WWII model), on the cinch back. The two rivets have a lowercase "o," and the Lily buckle indicates it was made during the WWII era (1942-46), a time of material controls during World War II, so I believe it was manufactured around 1942-46. There are examples of the same Lily buckle on a 5-button jacket with flaps, and the patch reads S506XX. Although there is no patch, I cannot confirm it, but it may be the same item. I asked several well-known people on social media, but its existence is rare. The responses I received suggested it was made in 1946. As you can see in the photos, there are no replacements. Some yellow thread remains on the back of the cinch back. There are repairs, but considering it's 80 years old, the condition is good. Two buttons are missing. I will include two current buttons for these. The size is 38, shrunk from 42-40. It should fit a person around 170cm tall with a standard build perfectly. I am 173cm tall and weigh 73kg, with a stocky build, and it's a bit tight, but I can wear it.
