A somewhat unusual, distinctive-faced carved bear. There's a signature on the sole of the foot that looks like "土" (tsuchi - earth/soil) or "士" (shi - samurai/scholar), but the artist is unknown. Despite its small size, it has a unique presence. The material seems different from typical wooden bears, and it appears slightly reddish, but this might be due to coloring.
