The band is Italian leather. This series expresses the phases of the moon, with the full moon in white (light) and the new moon in black (darkness). While no dirt or scratches can be seen on the watch itself, there are signs of use on the band (I think it's at a level that won't bother you once you put it on your wrist, as it was used for about six months). It has been stored in a dark room (a desk drawer) and has no sun damage. The battery was replaced about a year and a half ago and is still working.
