This is an old Shigaraki tokkuri (sake bottle). I estimate it to be from around the 1850s. It's a rather large tokkuri, but it's a masterpiece that evokes a sense of historical romance! It's also a wonderful vessel that allows you to feel the beauty of wabi-sabi when used as a flower vase! The mark in the center of the first photo is not a scratch! It's a type of pottery mark from that time, and it's often seen on tokkuri of that shape. I am a collector, but not an expert. This is just my personal opinion, so please use it as a reference. The photos are everything, so please judge carefully from the photos before purchasing! If you have any concerns, please refrain from purchasing! No returns or exchanges after purchase, please!
