This is a homemade digging stick for stag beetles. It has a hook to catch the stag beetle's mandibles. Using the hook makes it harder for them to escape. The hook is detachable. The total length is 36 centimeters. This summer, I caught many stag beetles with this homemade digging stick, including a 59.2mm Hirata stag beetle. I think it's good that digging sticks have lights, but small lights are hard to see with. Therefore, I think it's better to use a headlamp or hold a handheld light for better visibility.
