Moon Stratocaster in Walnut/Ebony. I purchased this guitar used. I was told it was a Moon guitar from the 80s. It's an electric guitar with an oil finish that has aged beautifully, giving it a very cool look. This is a rare model with a walnut body and neck, and an ebony fingerboard, making it a very luxurious instrument. You can understand its value just by looking at the quality of the materials. The wood is dense and has a substantial weight. (I don't have a scale, but this is based on my subjective comparison to other Stratocasters I own.) As you can see in the photos, it has also been modified. ——-Modifications—— * GOTOH bridge for left-handed players, with a tremolo arm. The body has been routed to accommodate the bridge. * All pickups have been replaced with Seymour Duncan pickups. Front: SSL6, Middle: likely a similar model, Rear: single-coil-sized humbucker. * Blender control installed. * Tone control: Passive when pulled, Active when pushed. I'm not entirely sure of the details, but it seemed like a booster was activated when pushed. I usually controlled the volume with the tone pulled, adjusting the distortion, and pushed it for solos or when I wanted a boost. * Strap pin position changed. ——————— I did not perform these modifications, so I have described them to the best of my knowledge. I cannot guarantee the details. Please also be aware that there may be other modifications. The neck is neither thin nor thick, it's somewhere in between. As for the sound, it has a thick, full tone. It has a punchy sound with a touch of grit, reminiscent of a Stratocaster. This might be due to the walnut, but as the modifications suggest, it seems to be inspired by SRV. The pickups are powerful, making it ideal for rock and blues. You can also get a typical Stratocaster sound by rolling back the volume. It's a vintage instrument, so there are scratches and fading. I hope to sell it to someone who doesn't mind these things, someone who enjoys tinkering with guitars, and someone who appreciates it as a vintage instrument. This is from the era when Moon and other Japanese guitars were at their peak, with a wide variety of materials. The materials alone are of great value, so please consider it.
