The bridge is slightly warped, but it does not affect playability. The G, D, and A strings are Pirastro Tonica. The G string has some discoloration but no fraying and is still usable. The sound is more of a dry, melancholic tone. I previously played a Gliga Gems 3/4 made around 2020, and compared to that, this one has a more dignified sound due to its age, and I believe it produces a good sound within the same series. [Gliga] After studying in Germany and obtaining his master craftsman qualification in the 1990s, Mr. Gliga Vasile established Gliga in Eastern Europe, Romania. Uses European wood selected by Stradivarius. Gliga violins are handmade using spruce from the Carpathian Mountains, said to have been used by Stradivarius, and maple from the Transylvania region. The authentic manufacturing process, which involves carving from thick, locally sourced wood, achieves a deep and mellow tone. The beautiful flame figuring is characteristic, and while using high-quality wood, the violins are kept at a low price, offering high cost performance unique to Romanian manufacturing. Most of the instruments produced are designed based on Stradivarius or Guarneri models, aiming for a more powerful resonance. The thickness of the plates and even the fitting parts are manufactured in-house. Every element of the instrument is meticulously crafted, and this passion is poured into Gliga instruments. Gliga violins are chosen to suit a wide range of musical genres, from classical to country music, and are manufactured with a focus on achieving the resonance of authentic old violins with a tasteful antique finish, without compromising on sound.
