This large plate, 33cm in diameter, is from Vista Alegre, Portugal's largest porcelain manufacturer and a purveyor to the British Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II. It evokes the image of Arita-yaki porcelain. The green and maroon painting is, in my opinion, exquisite. However, there are signs of use, including inconspicuous scratches (photos 15-18) from the manufacturing process around the rim and cutlery marks (photos 12-14). It's difficult to capture the cutlery marks in photos, but when light hits them, you can see multiple scratches that you can feel with your fingernail, as well as some that are more like scuffs. Height: 4cm Personally, I think it still has a good shine for its age. It would look lovely displayed on a plate stand!!
