I liked them, but I would like to pass them on to the next person. There are not so many collectors of commemorative cups, and it's nice to be able to collect rare items at an affordable price. This is a commemorative cup that was distributed to those involved in the opening of the waterworks in Aizuwakamatsu. It was completed in 1929, so it is almost 100 years old. Inside is the city emblem of Aizuwakamatsu. This city emblem was established two years prior, in 1927. It is a design of the character "會" (ai), which was used as the flag of the Aizu clan, who were famous for their role in the Boshin War of the Meiji era, and as the shoulder insignia of the Byakkotai (White Tiger Force) soldiers, symbolizing the history and tradition of Aizuwakamatsu City and the harmony of its citizens. On the rim are the characters for the completion of the Aizuwakamatsu City waterworks. As the photos show, if you place the characters face down, you have a white porcelain cup. The "會" (ai) design inside means many people gathering and festivals, so I think it is a very auspicious cup. Please check the size in the images taken with a scale. There are no noticeable scratches or cracks, but please check the images carefully as it is an old item. I am sorry, but I will not accept price negotiations for this item.
