MEDIUM REGULAR Rare item, deadstock, M65 Mod coat, fishtail parka. Although it looks like a regular US ARMY M65, it was not manufactured by an external company, but by DPSC. (Defense Personnel Support Center) DIR. OF MFG., which is the supply department within the US military. There are differences in the materials and parts used, and the fabric is 80% cotton / 20% nylon, which is slightly softer than the 50% cotton / 50% nylon often seen in externally commissioned products. Also, it was made in 1972, which is around the early manufacturing period, and it uses a black painted zipper. Usually, a silver aluminum zip is used for this. Also, even for items manufactured within the military, gold brass zippers are mostly used, so black is rare. I haven't worn it after purchasing it as deadstock.
