This is a very luxurious and beautiful white Homongi with gray Suwa-to embroidery in a horizontal pattern, arranged in four tiers. It has a backing, so it is not see-through. The entire piece is hand-embroidered with an Egyptian motif reminiscent of Cleopatra and Tutankhamun, running horizontally. Each individual element is different, creating a highly intricate design. I was told this was a masterpiece, and I was captivated by the beautiful colors and patterns at an Isshin-kai (masterpiece exhibition) at a long-established Kyoto kimono shop. I ordered it custom-made, even though I wasn't sure if I could wear it. The pattern on the hem is a more modern arabesque-like floral design, with a tightening blue-gray color that pulls the whole look together. Gold leaf is used, and what may look like stains in the photos is actually gold powder-like gold leaf. The custom-made price at the time was over 1 million yen in the unfinished state (kari-eba) of the Homongi. It has been treated with Pearlton processing, so you can wear this white kimono with a little more peace of mind. You might find a small stain if you look closely, but it has been professionally cleaned. The price is set within a reasonable range. Because it has a backing, it has a solid, weighty feel. I've only worn it once at Christmas, and because it's white, I haven't worn it much. While it's still beautiful, white kimonos look stunning in the coming seasons. This is a high-class Homongi suitable for Christmas, New Year's parties, and other glamorous occasions. Wear it with confidence and poise. It's also a wonderful item for those looking for a unique kimono that's different from others. This kimono can be worn by people up to 175cm tall, and it will look even better on those with a relatively slender and tall build.
