Thank you for viewing. This is a pre-war tinplate O gauge train set I obtained at a morning market in Belgium 10 years ago. It is a product of Josef Kraus & Co. (commonly known as Kraus Fandor), which manufactured tinplate model trains, mainly O gauge and 1 gauge, in Nuremberg between 1910 and 1933. According to my research, I was able to find the same streamlined product as this one in Kraus's black and white catalog from 1933. The inverted triangle Kraus logo can be seen on the inner box. The set includes a locomotive, tender, passenger car, four passenger cars, four curved rails, and two straight rails. There is also a spring screw that, when wound, will move the front power car. The instructions are in four languages, including German, English, and French, and there are signs of insect damage and repairs with cellophane tape. Since four curved rails won't make a complete circle, four additional curved rails and a signal are included (see photos). A price tag from the morning market is attached to the passenger car, stating 115€, but I don't know how to price such an item. I believe it is a valuable item, but I suspect that the tender might be from a different product because the color of the body is different.
