I made a long skirt by unraveling a Meisen kimono. The original kimono was in very beautiful condition, with the basting threads still attached. (Photos 12, 13, 14) Since Meisen can fade when washed with water, I only disinfected it with a hot iron. Under natural light, it has a slightly bluish-black base with a fine red checkered pattern. It's a simple color and pattern that goes with any top, and has a traditional feel. It has a firm thickness, and the luster and firmness characteristic of Meisen are wonderful. I put in three long tucks in the front and back to reduce the volume. Although there's plenty of gathering, thanks to the tucks, the waist and hips look neat. I enjoy dressmaking specializing in straight stitching. I use old kimonos, such as Tsumugi, Meisen, and Komon, as well as obi and furoshiki, for remakes. Please consider purchasing if you understand that there may be remaining threads, small holes, stains from used items, distortions, double stitching, etc. ✳︎Avoid washing as much as possible, and after wearing, hang it on a hanger to let it breathe. ✳︎Items other than the skirt are for photography purposes. ✳︎There is no lining. Please use a petticoat when wearing. Material: Seems to be silk Size Skirt length: Approximately 80cm Waist: Assuming a free size, I've inserted 2cm wide elastic.
