Yako Ebei is a detestable villain who appears in the kabuki play "Ko Nyobo Sometsutezuna," which premiered at the Kawarazaki-za theater in Edo in May 1794. Ebei sides with the villains Washizuka Kanta and his brother Shinpei, and steals a large sum of 300 ryo from Yako Ippei, a young servant of Yosaku Date, the head of the Kurumegi family's treasury.
