This leather jacket is a G-jean type, tailored from horsehide and inspired by a 1944 denim jacket from the World War II era. The material is approximately 1.6mm thick horsehide. It undergoes a "combination tanning" process: first chrome-tanned, then the solvent is washed away, and finally re-tanned with tannin. This results in leather that has the substantial feel of tannin and develops a rich patina with wear. The base is dyed light brown and then given a black "oka-zome" (hill-dyeing) finish at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo, creating a "tea core" effect. The finish uses a semi-aniline process, which balances dye and pigment. The suppleness of the dye and the light coating of the pigment blend perfectly, allowing the base color to gradually emerge with wear, promising a deep, evolving aging process. The buttons are laurel leaf buttons with a blue rust finish. The back features the "T-back" detail, a fabric seam once only used on sizes 46 and larger. It also includes a buckle-back for a classic feel. The silhouette is based on a vintage 1st type, with a slightly extended length for a modern update.
