This is an antique lighter. I didn't know how to insert a flint. It's a lighter that ignites when the lid opens with the side button. The lid doesn't feel loose and makes a crisp "shhh" sound when closed, so I think it will light if you replace the flint. It doesn't react to a magnet, and the hallmarks suggest it's silver 925.
