These are hechi rods crafted from Hotei bamboo and Madake bamboo. The black one (made entirely of bamboo) is 190cm long and has a closed length of 105cm. The red one (solid spiral wrap) is 187cm long and has a closed length of 102cm. Both weigh around 70g. They are very slender, but during test fishing, I caught several black sea bream-sized fish with them! They are quite soft rods, but they are designed to be fun to use. I would recommend the black one, which is a bit stiffer, and the red one as a spare (in my opinion). Honestly, they are quite fun for catching "kaizu" (juvenile sea bream), and for anything larger, you'll need some skill to handle the fight. I hope you enjoy them with that image in mind. These are amateur creations. They are not masterpieces, and the craftsmanship is rough, but they shouldn't break unless you do something extreme. Please consider this when making your decision.
