Iwa Shrine is a shrine located in Ichinomiya-cho, Shiso City, Hyogo Prefecture. It is a Shikinai-sha (Myojin Taisha) and the Ichinomiya (first shrine) of Harima Province. Its former rank was Kokuhei Chusha (National Shrine of the Second Class). The main enshrined deities are Iwa-no-Okami and Okuninushi-no-Kami, who are the gods of Harima Province, according to the "Harima Fudoki" (records of the culture and geography of Harima Province). This offering is a set of two items: a goshuin (red seal stamp) and a yusho-sho (a document explaining the shrine's history). Revered as the Ichinomiya and the general ujigami (guardian deity) of Harima Province, it attracts the faith of people as a god of agriculture, industry, commerce, and traffic safety. The legend of the Tsuru-ishi (Crane Stone) behind the main hall is famous. It is said that cedar and cypress trees grew overnight, and while many cranes were dancing, two large white cranes were sleeping on a stone facing north. Therefore, the shrine was built facing north.
