It has a switch, but it doesn't work even with batteries inserted. The center car has a door opening/closing button, but it's broken. The door opens when pressed, but closes when released. Also, there are parts missing connecting pieces and parts that are deformed. It has been used, so there is overall light soiling, but I think it's still in good condition. This is a hard-to-find train that is no longer available. Please understand this before making your purchase.
