While it has practical value, it also looks great on display. * The shape suggests this is not a tea container used in the tea ceremony, but rather for everyday use at home. ★★★ The pottery mark reads "Shuhei," but the artist's name is unknown (please provide your assessment if you have more information). ★★★ It comes with a box, but I don't believe it's a matching box (no signature). Also, there's a sticker on the inside of the lid with "Ogata Shuhei" written by the previous owner. The pottery mark is similar, but based on the style, I don't think it's Ogata Shuhei. It's possible Ogata made yakishime ware, so I can't say for certain, but I'm not an expert. It could be a hidden gem, but please judge from the photos (please consider purchasing with the understanding that it's likely not Ogata Shuhei). ★★★ Regardless of the artist, it's a simple and attractive lidded container. Purchased at a 2019 auction, it has been unused and displayed in a glass cabinet. * With box No smoking, no pets. Shipped via Mercari's anonymous delivery service for peace of mind.
