This is a tsumugi (pongee) kimono with a lining. The entire surface is decorated with a delicate Tsujigahana pattern. The fantastical world unique to Tsujigahana is captivating, and upon closer inspection, birds are also depicted. The very fine painting gives a delicate and calm impression. There is a slight gradation (bokashi) at the hem and sleeves, so it is likely a tsukesage komon (semi-formal patterned kimono). As it is tsumugi, and at first glance it appears to be a general patterned komon, I hope you will enjoy it as casual wear for going out. The color is a muted, pale, light purple. Within it are muted, pale vermillion, and the gradation uses a slightly darker version of the base color, a muted light purple. I have processed the images to be as close to the actual impression as possible. There is a slight scuff on the hem (image 16). It is a very small scuff, so you can still wear it as is. Otherwise, it is clean and there are no odors. I loved it, but I am selling it due to moving. I would be happy if someone who likes it would use it.
