Torajiro Kojima, who laid the foundation for the collection of the Ohara Museum of Art in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, was an outstanding modern Japanese Western-style painter and collector. On April 3, 2025, a museum commemorating Kojima's achievements opened in the center of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. In a building that has long been familiar to citizens as a bank, valuable collections from ancient Egypt and Western Asia, as well as Kojima's Western-style paintings, will be exhibited.
