The cup is quite deep. It was very compatible with VanLaar. The L is a Yamaha shank. No dents, no repair marks, and no plating lifting. I ran a swab through it after each performance and occasionally ultrasonically cleaned it, but it has been in storage for a while, so there is some slight clouding of the plating. I have the impression that the gold plating on Dennis products flakes off easily, but this is silver-plated, so it's safe. I think it's a good mouthpiece.
