Vintage This is a relief of King Edward III of England (1312-1377) depicted on a heavy, stone-like base. It is a vintage piece from Marcus Design Ltd. of England, sold in 1974. It is a handmade piece, skillfully colored and molded along the original form. The base material is hard, and when tapped with a finger, it resonates with a clear sound like porcelain. It is heavy, as if made of stone, weighing 5.1 kg. The three-dimensional effect, dynamism, and overwhelming presence of the king on horseback, wielding a sword in his armor, carved deeply into the stone, is magnificent and captivating. The red lions and blue lilies used throughout represent the English Royal Arms, established by Edward III in 1340.
