Purchased around 2012. It's an older model, but apparently the refill core specifications haven't changed, so it seems you can still buy refills at mass retailers, on Amazon, and even from the official store. It was for a gift, but due to circumstances, I couldn't give it and just kept it stored. I wrote with it once to check, and the ink came out properly.
